Red River Valley Exhibit
Snaking down the center of the 4,000 square foot exhibit space is a 48-foot rendition of the Red River and its tributaries carved into the carpet. Uncover the origins of the region, including ancient Lake Agassiz, which provided the area with some of the richest farmland in the world. Hear the squeaks of an ox cart as it travels through the valley. See items that Europeans traded with Native Americans for beaver pelts to be turned into hats that were the popular fashion in Europe. Discover what make the Red River Valley rich in culture and heritage. |

Spanning the time between the formation of the Red River Valley to
steamboats on the Red, the
